I. The supremacy of Christ over others.

A. Over the prophets (1:1-4)

B. Over angels (1:5-2:18)

C. Over Moses (3:1-19)

II. 7 ways Christ is the perfect mediator.

A. Jesus is Heir – “appointed heir of all things”

B. Jesus is Creator – “through whom…”

C. Jesus is God’s glory – “radiance of…”

D. Jesus is God’s image – “the exact imprint”

E. Jesus is Sustainer – “upholds the universe”

F. Jesus is Redeemer – “making purification for sins”

G. Jesus is King – “sat down to the Majesty’s right”

III. 3 ways we can apply this lesson.

A. Truth is absolute (Jn. 17:17).

B. Jesus is superior to anyone else (1:1-2; Jn. 14:6).

C. We will confess Jesus’ lordship (Phil. 2:10-11).

Conclusion:

1. Jesus is our Lord.

2. Christians should listen to him.
